The Rifleman was originally designed in 2505 primarily as a medium fire-support vehicle for use by the Star League Defense Force. Its secondary role is that of anti-aircraft platform, as its tracking system provides excellent aquisition of swift moving aerial targets. Though outclassed by better-armed 'Mechs such as the Warhammer, the versatile and reliable Rifleman can nevertheless perform as an effective component in more complex battle plans.
